La Guitarra Clássica
I decided to buy a classical guitar last week, so I picked a cheap one off of Craigslist. It’s a Yamaha CG-100A; a good one to start with, according to many Internet reviews. I restrung it, and bought a used copy of Mel Bay’s Complete Method for Classical Guitar — complete with a hatefully vandalized cover from some angsty kid who was probably forced into learning this stuff.
Good thing I had some basic music lessons back in grade school, otherwise I’d have to learn how to read sheet music in addition to the already difficult task of playing this instrument. I’ve probably chosen the hardest method of playing, short of straight-up Flamenco…
But hey, anyone can play guitar, right?
